How to Apply for Scholarships

1. Create a login. (DO NOT USE YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS!)

2. Create your profile. You will complete information in each of the groups listed below.

○ Basic and Additional Info

○ School Info

○ Academic Info: GPA (no to weighted and only need Senior Year Cumulative Normal GPA), Class Rank (Integer) and Test Scores -found in Skyward. (Need to update after Gwen has finalized grades after 2nd trimester.)

○ Supporting Material

The  Goals and Aspirations Essay requirements are:

  • Write a 500-1000 word essay detailing your educational and career goals AFTER high school and the steps you plan to take to meet those goals.
  • We strongly suggest you type your 500-1000 word essay in a Google doc or Word document and paste it into your profile. (Use word count and spell check)
  • Include an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion; be specific about the progression of activities or steps you plan to take to meet your educational and career goals.
  • DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME, a title or the date.

Unusual Circumstances Essay: This essay is NOT required.

3. Transcript Section > Counselor/Registrar Information: Submit the request from GWEN. DO NOT request from your counselor. Request transcript from:

4. Reference Section > Send the request to a person of your choosing (teacher, coach, etc. - a person who is not related to you!)

**You must complete the application, including the 500-1000 word Goals and Aspirations Essay, Transcript Request and Recommendation Request in order to be considered for a scholarship.**

After your profile is complete, choose My Scholarships to receive a list of scholarship opportunities. Click Submit to qualify and apply for those scholarships.

 

Click on My Resources > Need a Resume > 2nd Click Here, if you would like to download a hard copy of your application to use for some local scholarships available from the PHS Career Center.

 

PHS Classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027 can begin to build your profile.

  1. Create an account.
  2. Do not use your school email address.
  3. Build your profile be adding this year's activities, awards and employment.
  4. Continue to keep your profile up-to-date and when you are a senior you will be able to apply for scholarships!

 

HOW TO CLAIM A SCHOLARSHIP (2021 and 2022 Scholarship Recipients)

Step 1 - Complete a semester of college.
Step 2 - Complete the Scholarship Claim Form.
Step 3 - Print a copy of your most recent Grade report/transcript from your college. Does NOT need to be an official transcript.
Step 4 - Print a copy of your next semester's tuition statement from your college
Step 5 - Mail all documents; Scholarship Claim Form, most recent Grade report/transcript, next semester's tuition statement to:

A check will be sent to you made out to your school. You will take the check to your Financial Aid Officer to deposit in your account.
